East Bay Baptist Church

Warren, Rhode Island

Pastor Chris Stuebe

I have known Brother Stuebe and his family for many years.  They were faithful members and workers at Calvary Baptist Church in Middletown RI for many years.  I have seen them grow and mature in their spiritual life and not surprised that God called them into the ministry.  What a blessing to see churches starting churches with their own members called into the work of God.

Special Meetings

AudPastor Stuebe hosted a great State wide fellowship among Baptists of like minded faith and practice.  Just up the street is "The Baptist Church of Warren" established in 1764.  That was 12 years before there was an independent America.  Brown University was first established within this church.

East Bay Baptist Church rented the Auditorium and fellowship hall for the night of preaching and fellowship.  Many churches came from Rhode Island and Massachusetts to join in the singing, preaching and Christian joy of assembling together in the name of the Lord.

Deaf1

It was an exciting time.  I got to see many Preachers that I have not seen in a while and got to meet some I did not know before.  All the services were interpreted for the deaf by Brother Jim and Sister Terry Barcelin.  Brother Barcelin is the Director of the Northeast for Silent Word Ministries.

They are a sweet couple, whose love for Lord and the deaf is so clearly evident in their deaf interpretation and Godly life style.

The Special Music was exceptional.  Moving, Godly, and Joyful are characteristics that mark the difference between a performer and servant of the Lord in song.  They sought to uplift the name of the Lord and let Jesus be seen through them.

(I am sorry for the quality of the pictures.  The inside of the church was very dark and I had to try to lighten them up so you can at least get an idea of what happened)

Service1

The next two services were at the church.  Meetings were on Saturday night, Sunday Morning and Evening.  Very good attendance and a very clear expectation of the Lord's blessings made the spirit of the services heartwarming yet convicting.

Brother Barcelin taught the Sunday School lesson.  He taught it in Sign Language and interpreted for us hearing people!!

SpecialDeaf

Only the Lord can do His work in the heart and lives of His people.  That work was seen outwardly as many were at the altar.  Yet the real evidence is in the daily walk of the new life.  I have seen over time many of the folks here grow in the love of God and in obedience to the Word of God.

Whether through the ears or through the eyes, the Word of God is not bound and will not return void.  It is always good and always powerful.

This church is seeking to reach the city of Warren and surrounding area with the life changing message of the  Gospel.  I believe we will hear good reports in the days to come from this group of believers who are driven with Godly vision and dedicated lives.
