Pastor Stephen Janke |
The Community Baptist Church of Garfield is an independent
Baptist church located in Bergen county New Jersey, just east
of New York City. The church is easily accessible from anywhere
in the greater Northern New Jersey/NYC area.

Someday Arrived

We all had folks tell that
"Someday they will come to church" Well here in Garfield "Someday"
arrived. Some who have said they would come "Someday" now could
fulfill that promise. It was good to see visitors and church folk
fill the church.
What a great time we had in both
the Morning and Evening Services. I am always amazed how the
preaching of the Word of God can touch hearts. It's by the
preaching of Blood and resurrection that conviction of sin falls and
souls converted. It's by the same preaching that believers are
strengthened and encouraged.

The best
way to keep trouble out of the church is to keep the baptismal waters
troubled.
Veteran's Day Service
I was thrilled to be back at this great
church. Always being in New Jersey is special for me. My
first church was in the Garden State and in the same county as Community
Baptist Church.

Now this meeting was so very special.
It was in honor of Veteran's Day, remembering those who in the past and
currently serving in the United States military. Many Veterans of
the church and invited guests were recognized and honored for
their time of service to our country.

Some gave personal testimony of their faith
in the Lord and gave appreciation for the prayers of God's people on
their behalf.
They serve with pride and honor

Each of the Veterans received a special plaque

Posters around the church reminded us of the
price of freedom and liberty. A price paid by the American
Soldier.

God Bless America Again

Pastor
Janke is a veteran from Viet Nam. He served in the K-9 division of
the operation there. It was a VERY special time for him to
have two of his old fellow military buddies visit the Veteran's Day
Service. He had not seen them in over thirty years, since leaving
Viet Nam. It was a tearful, joyful and heart warming event for
them to be reunited. Not only because of their bond as soldiers
but also because they were now believers in Jesus Christ. Their
testimony was clear as to the grace of God in the matter of salvation.
Having in the past been united in the service they now are united in the
Name of Jesus and seek to serve Him.
| Music filled
the building as songs of America and the Cross were sung.
"Let music fill the breeze and ring
from all the trees, sweet freedom's song." Freedom
from man's oppression and freedom from the chains of sin. |

Faith and I were privileged to sit in on a really great
Sunday School Class. Brother Derek is one fantastic Sunday School
teacher. He is a true Bible teacher.
A person can get a real Bible education from
his class. Not only does he give great factual content but also
applies these facts in the light of our life as a Christian living in
today's age.

The ministry of the church
reaches out to others with a Van Ministry.
