Once more Pastor Jones and the
church invited me and Brother Charles Horton to help the church in
its soul winning outreach called "Harvest 2010". While
"Harvest 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009" were such a
success the church knows you can't live on past blessings.
They planned another harvest out reach. This once more was a
fantastic week of blessing and WORK! An excellent number
of believers of all ages showed up to help go door to door, drive busses, prepare food and
attend this very aggressive out reach.
These Harvest Times are always a "working"
conference. We began on Wednesday night as Brother Charley Horton
challenged our hearts in soul-winning and the vision was set. On Thursday
morning we met for prayer and once again Brother Horton gave some
instruction on personal evangelism.
We then hit the streets until noon.
After lunch teams went back out, knocking on doors and giving out the
Gospel.
Then that evening a very harsh and strong storm came
our way.
Thunder sounded and lighting lit the sky. Not being able to go out we
had a prayer meeting awaiting the morning day break. Actually much
prayer went into the meeting.
On Friday the storm was over, the sun was bright and
off to the streets again. New folks
joined us and the teams grew larger enabling us to reach more areas in a
shorter amount of time. So we loaded up with the Gospel, tracts and
church information and went out again.
Street Preaching
On Friday evening while some teams when door knocking
a few of us went downtown for street singing and preaching. I preached
twice and although there seemed to be little or no interest, several
folks actually asked for tracts and others struck up a conversation about
the church.

Once more on Saturday morning more homes were
reached and the Gospel given.
In all over ONE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED FIFTY doors
were knocked on and 1,650 Gospel of John and Romans, tracks and
material were distributed. What a wonderful victory in spite of the
devil's hatred for such endeavors. The seed of the Word of God will
produce a good harvest in the days to come. While some say we need new
methods it is plain and simple that house to house is an old method that
works if you work it right through the power of prayer and dedication.
An added blessing was having three young men
from the New England Baptist College come join us. They worked hard
and showed their burden for souls. On Saturday night they gave a
special music presentation before I preached. Then on Sunday they sang
in the Church Service.
In a step of faith the members have called Brother Bob
Emery to be the assistant pastor, helping Brother Jones in the work of the
ministry. His faith, vision and zeal has added greatly to the ministry
in the short time he has been there.

The church maintains a
clean, healthy and decorative nursery. The services can be heard and
seen by the workers.

Missions has always been part of the
ministry of Rosedale Baptist Church. While reaching across the
street in Harvest, the vision also expands around the world.
